The system is not free, but costs are reasonable for occasional users.

As of July 1, 2025, XChange charges $0.35 per search. Monthly subscriptions are available at $40 for up to 500 searches. Guest accounts require a one-time $10 setup fee. You can search by name, case number, or citation number. Results include case type, filing date, hearing dates, charges, and disposition when available. Ogden Court Records and Public Access Rights

Most Ogden court records are public under Utah law. The Government Records Access and Management Act, known as GRAMA, governs how courts and public agencies handle record requests. You can review the full GRAMA statute at le.utah.gov. Under GRAMA, agencies must respond to requests within 10 business days. If a request is denied, you have the right to appeal.

Not all court records are open to the public. Records may be sealed by a judge, expunged under Utah's expungement statutes, or restricted because they involve juveniles or protected parties. Mental health evaluations, victim identifying information in certain cases, and adoption records are also typically restricted. If a record comes back with no results, it may exist but be restricted rather than absent.

The Ogden Justice Court follows the same access rules as all Utah courts. Requests can be made in person at the clerk's counter, by mail, or using XChange for electronic access. If you are a party to the case, the free MyCase portal at utcourts.gov/mycase gives you access to your own case documents without paying per-search fees.

Note: If your case was expunged, it will not appear in XChange or in clerk searches, and staff are generally not permitted to confirm its prior existence.
