Sevier County Justice Court

The Sevier County Justice Court handles Class B and C misdemeanors, traffic infractions, and small claims cases. It is located at 250 North Main Street, Suite 124, Richfield, UT 84701. Aurora also maintains its own justice court at 20 South 120 East (phone: 435-529-7643), serving cases within the Aurora city limits. Defendants in Sevier County traffic or misdemeanor cases should confirm which justice court has jurisdiction before appearing.

The Sevier Justice Court offers a plea in abeyance option for eligible defendants. Under this arrangement, a defendant agrees to a six-month probation period. If the conditions are met, the charge is dismissed. Traffic school completion may also satisfy certain moving violations. Contact the court clerk directly to ask whether your case qualifies for either option.

Sevier County Court Records and Public Access

Most Sevier County court records are public under Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act, known as GRAMA (63G-2-201). Public records include civil complaints, criminal charging documents, judgments, liens, and most court orders. A few categories are sealed by law, including juvenile delinquency records, adoption files, and cases where a judge has issued a specific sealing order.

To request records in person, visit the district court clerk at 845 East 300 North, Richfield. Bring the case number if you have it. Staff can locate the file and allow inspection at no charge. Copies are available for a per-page fee. Certified copies require an additional certification fee. Written GRAMA requests are also accepted and must be responded to within ten business days.
